Card Decks

A series of playing card decks designed after the seven deadly sins. Each sin is historically associated with at least one animal, and usually a color or item that embodies it’s qualities. Each deck uses these animals and details within the design.

Pride

is seen in peacocks, their tail feathers standing tall to attract a mate.
its arrogance is also shown as a royal knight upon his horse, charging onto the battlefield.

Greed

is shown as a ravenous fox and hungry wolf howling at the moon.
it’s seen in the color of gold too, one thing men would do anything for.

Lust

is found in the garden of Eden, with a bright red apple of temptation.
it’s also seen as a goat, another symbol for the Devil, or the serpent from the tree.

Envy

is seen as a cruel and malicious snake, tricking its prey.
it’s shown as a bat too, hiding under the cover of darkness in a haze.

Gluttony

is found in vultures, circling and feasting the moment their prey is dead.
it’s seen too in tiger sharks, who consume everything they come across.

Wrath

is shown as a grizzly bear, protective and fierce when provoked about their offspring.
it’s also seen in phrases like caught red-handed and seeing red.

Sloth

is seen as a blue cuckoo, a bird so lazy it lays its eggs in another’s nest to avoid raising their young.
its avoidance and lack of ambition are also seen in real sloths, who move around lazily all day.
